Story: As radio station workers, Moe, Larry, and Curly get the chance to hear a lot of music, including the newest talents to record their tunes. One such singer loves to perform, but has to release her music under an assumed name, as her wealthy family would disapprove. Meanwhile, the stooges happen upon the record of her latest song and in an odd turn of events, a plan is hatched to have Curly disguise himself as a woman and pretend to be the songbird. Will this scam hold up when they reach high society, or will they be kicked out as usual?

Entertainment Value: This is a classic stooges short, running about seventeen and featuring my personal favorite lineup of Moe, Larry, and Curly. While the troupe was no longer in their prime at this point, this short delivers all you could ask and more. The premise is outlandish and hilarious, with the stooges once again making fools of themselves and the upper class, this time with Curly posing as an opera singer to dupe the rich folks. The sequence where they attend the party and perform is one great moment after another, but the entire movie offers immense fun. Micro-Phonies remains a pleasure to watch even all these decades, so it easily earns a high recommendation.
