Story: Beverly Wood (Ivy Smith) is a social media sensation, but she can’t rest on her laurels, as she needs a constant flow of not just new content, but fresh and original content, otherwise her followers are likely to move on to greener pastures. She has managed to keep her popularity on the rise to the point, though not everyone is a fan, especially Fuschia (Christine Nguyen), who has ideas on taking over the spotlight from Beverly. Her husband Bradley (Eli Cirino) wants the two to work together, but Ivy has a new product that demands her attention, a food product that could end world hunger. But is the product too good to be true or has Ivy conquered yet another social injustice?

Entertainment Value: This one represents an interesting combination, with director Jim Wynorski teamed up with Charles Band’s Full Moon Features, which I appreciated, but I do wish this happened during more fruitful efforts from both sides. This is a typical Full Moon production from this period, which means very little resources invested and a rushed shoot. But Full Moon has had solid luck with some of these very low rent projects and Attack of the 50 Foot Camgirl might not fulfill of the premise’s potential, but it has some fun and has a good sense of humor. The narrative is one we’ve seen one before of course, updated for the TikTok influencer crowd, though this feels like your stepdad trying to sound hip, rather than a movie with its finger on the pulse of pop culture. There isn’t much sleaze, just some very light doses, while the emphasis is on bad jokes and over the top performances. The movie is more fun than you might think, thanks to the wise runtime of around an hour and the cast embracing the camp, which makes some of the material work well enough. If you appreciate Full Moon’s output from this phase or want to to see giant women, give it a shot.

The cast runs with the wacky, over the top tone of the material and as I said, this is similar in sense of humor to other Full Moon productions from this time period. The jokes are rapid fire and while most fall flat, some are humorous and to me, the bad jokes are even better, though some here qualify as simply bad, rather than “good” bad. Ivy Smith has the lead and plays the influencer role well enough, very campy and over the top in her approach. Her character is on the goofy side and Smith plays that up, so even most of the awful jokes tend to elicit some entertainment. And for those wondering, yes Smith does go on some rampages once she is giant sized, knocking down miniature sets and battling her rival, played by Christine Nguyen, in a kaiju inspired showdown. The cast also includes Eli Cirino, Lisa London, Becky LeBeau, and Michael Gaglio.
