Story: Lulu (Elizabeth Kaitan) and Peaches (Christina Whitaker) have had quite a roller coaster lifestyle of late, all of which started when the two were fired from the strip club. As if that wasn’t enough, they also stumbled into a crime scene and witnessed a mafia execution, which the criminals have decided to blame on the jilted dancers. Since the deceased was the club’s owner who just fired Lulu and Peaches, that makes it a rough one to explain, especially when the mob uses its resources and experience to make the frame job look believable. To evade prosecution for a crime they didn’t commit, the two go on the run and hope to make it to Mexico, where they can breath a little easier and stay out of the reach of the long arm of the law. But can two failed strippers somehow stay ahead of the cops, the mafia, and the creeps along the way, to reach the promised land?

Entertainment Value: This is a silly, over the top b movie that seems to promise sex and violence, but delivers more bad jokes than either of those elements. The narrative is kind of a Thelma & Louise vibe, just taken down the road of lame humor and general wackiness, as despite the title, our leads are not killers at all. The tone is light and upbeat, with the women making fools of the men and the humor is indeed lame, though sometimes that works in its favor. If you’ve watched many 80s sex comedies, then you know about what to expect, though this is much sillier and more ridiculous than most of its genre peers. I think this is a good example of how effective fun b movie vibes and enthusiasm can be, as there is so much energy in the performances and such a low rent, but fun general vibe, this ends up being way more fun than you might expect. The cast doesn’t dazzle with their thespian kills, but everyone runs with the wackiness, so it works. I wouldn’t call it a classic, but Assault of the Killer Bimbos is a fun watch and worth a look for those interested.

If you judge by the title alone, you might think this movie is filled with scandalous sex scenes or wild bursts of nudity, but that isn’t the case. The strip club scenes feature clothed dancers and the only source of skin is an awkward, roadside makeover sequence. That scene has an obvious body double used for the topless moments, which are quite brief. And to be honest, the breasts aren’t going to be what you remember from that inexplicable makeover sequence. So not much nakedness to be had, though it compensates with more terrible jokes. No bloodshed, this is a silly comedy and as such, any violence is played for humor. The dialogue is packed with 80s lingo, bad jokes, dude talk, and some prime old school cringe, so it is a fun mix here. “Hey, its a bimbo with a gun!” is a highlight of the wackiness found here, but there are other quotable moments, between the groan inducing writing and the over the top turns from the cast. The wackiness moves the needle on the insanity scale a little as well, as the roadside makeover scene alone is worth a point or two. The steady flow of b movie silliness tacks on some score as well, so there’s some fun stuff here.

Nudity: 1/10

Blood: 0/10

Dialogue: 5/10

Overall Insanity: 3/10
