Plot: Peyton (Tiera Skovbye) is a high school senior with a bright future ahead, including a scholarship to an excellent college. But she would like to change her body, so she takes some photos to perhaps send to a plastic surgeon, as she would like to have her breasts enlarged. She decides against the consultation and deletes the revealing photos, but as it turns out, it won’t be the last time they’re seen. Soon, it becomes clear someone has hacked her computer and accessed those pictures, then shared them with everyone in her contacts list. Her school, her father’s work, and everyone on her social media now have the pictures. Her parents of course freak out, but then her mother begins to work on finding the source of the leak and spread, which seems to be a website that hosts revenge porn content. The site owner is a brash, outspoken young man who takes great pride in profiting from women’s exposure, but she is determined to end his ways and make sure no one else suffers her daughter’s fate. But the closer she gets, the more her family’s lives are tampered with. As tensions mount and even death threats appear, will she give in or will push until justice is served?

Entertainment Value: In true Lifetime fashion, Revenge Porn tackles a topic that was hotly discussed, but after it has lost relevance. So we have a movie that features a high school girl who takes some pictures in her panties, those pictures are leaked, and her life falls apart. Of course, pictures like these are posted to Instagram all the time and no one seems to have their lives ruined, but I suppose going the true Revenge Porn route might have been too much. But it does make it tough when lives are being threatened and the police are on the task, when the pictures are no more revealing than a bikini. No one should have pictures of any kind leaked without consent, but these are so tame, it seems out of proportion with the melodrama involved. But this is Lifetime, so I should embrace the melodrama and overblown aftermath of some booty pics, right? Peyton even turns blase about the photos at times, but her mother is a force of nature, who goes over the top and refuses to relent, even when she is threatened by…a drone that shoots paintballs…uh ok. So obviously, this is high drama and it delivers the frantic female rage the channel is known for. The men are either slimeballs or passive entities, as our superhuman mother charges into battle. I had fun with this one and if you’re a fan of Lifetime movies, I think you will as well.

No nakedness. As I said, the photos are just panty shots with Peyton covering her boobs, so the overreaction is epic level. These kind of pics are common on social media, so I think a leaked sex tape would have put the aftermath in proper scale. There would still be no nakedness obviously, but no one is losing their scholarship over booty pics in this day and age. No blood. There’s some mild violence and dread involved, but the worst that happens is someone taking a metal canister to the dome. I mean, we are supposed to cower in fear from a drone with a paintball gun, so yeah, this one isn’t exactly ripe with effective tension. The dialogue is often quite fun, between mean girl talk, slut shaming, concerned parent rants, and douche/creeper talk. Our villain is like a real life Bart Simpson, so his dead serious rants about his power and evil are hilarious. The verbal abuse Peyton suffers over pics of her in her panties is just outlandish, with some brutal hashtags and high level slut shaming, not to mention some unwanted affection from the dudes around her. The craziness here revolves around how overblown the situation is, given the tame nature of the pics. We have a wild mother, a laughable villain, and a finale twist that is just so dumb, but hilarious. Not to mention, you know, the whole drone with a paintball gun scenario…
