Story: After a wild legal trial and a police chase, Moe, Larry, and Curly manage to evade capture thanks to a plumbing truck they happen to abscond with. When the crew pulls over after the chase ends, they’re shuffled inside a mansion, as the butler needs them to get right to work. After some confusion, the stooges get to work and while they have no idea what they’re doing, that doesn’t stop them from wrecking the home’s pipes…and each other. Will the stooges be able to stay ahead of the cops and avoid jail, or will this detour just land them in more hot water?

Entertainment Value: This is easily one of the best shorts from The Three Stooges, a brisk seventeen minute film that is wall to wall laughs. From the opening scenes from a chicken theft trial to the outlandish series of events in the finale, this short is packed with hilarious moments and at only seventeen minutes, this one really makes the most of those minutes. I don’t think there’s a dull moment here to be honest and the pace never slows, as there is always a wacky turn of events going on and soon after, another one kicks into motion. The scenes with Curly and his pipe maze were great, but I think Dudley Dickerson steals the show, with some classic segments as he plays a cook battling the pipes while the stooges cause chaos. I had a blast with this short and I give it a high recommendation, this is seventeen minutes of pure slapstick bliss.
