Plot: When Craig (Mighty Mike Murga) ventures into the desert with a couple friends, he expects to find a creepy, perhaps haunted locale. Instead, his friends are slaughtered by a maniac known as The Doctor (Ford Austin), who takes great pleasure in killing and eating a piece here and there. But The Doctor allows Craig to live, though he does rape him and the sodomy turns Craig into a psychopath himself. This leads to a killing spree for Craig, who murders then rapes women, sometimes hiding in small cabinets to take advantage of his midget abilities. Tara (Felissa Rose) is devastated when her sister is killed by Craig, but her friends try to cheer her up with a trip to the desert. Wait, what now? Anyway, Craig ends up in the desert himself after a victim kicks his ass, which means Tara and her friends are out there with two lunatics. Can anyone survive the blood soaked wrath of The Doctor and his midget cohort?
Entertainment Value: Do you like bad reggae music? Random and out place cameos from assorted folks? How about a murderous midget who masturbates to the Lizzie McGuire show? Slaughter Party is a low rent, but fairly fun movie that has that Troma flair we know and love. The story makes no sense but it is great, as a midget is raped and in the process, turns into a killer. This leads to bikini clad women, dedicated police officers, and others all converging on the desert for a final showdown. The main cast is mostly not good, but there are some fun folks on the lineup at least. Felissa Rose plays a huge bitch, Ron Jeremy plays a homosexual rapist, Lloyd Kaufman calls for the deaths of all midgets, and get this, Brinke Stevens is a hacker in this one. Yes. Brinke Stevens plays a hacker in this movie. Not to mention Seymore Butts is involved. So a colorful cast, but most of those names just have quick, off set cameos. Still, Brinke Stevens as a hacker is brilliant and hilarious. The movie is slow at times, but manages to be passable overall and has some memorable moments. If you appreciate Troma, midget murderers, or Brinke Stevens as a hacker, give this a chance.
Just a couple of topless moments, including one with very clean tits and another with very dirty tits. So fantastic balance, at the least. The violence isn’t graphic, but there sure is a lot of blood splashing around. What happens in most scenes is, someone is stabbed off screen and the blood sprays all over the killer and surrounding area. I know some don’t care for that approach, but at least there’s ample red stuff here. A few scenes offer a more visceral tactic, such as gnawing on blood dripping meat and bashing a midget’s head in with a rock. So lots of blood flows, but not much on screen violence, so the score isn’t as high as the liquid crimson might warrant. As for dialogue, The Doctor has some good lines, but his humor is so hit & miss. At least he is enthusiastic, while the midget runs around growling and rattling off one liners like a champ. We also have some catty banter and talk about big dicks, but Brinke Stevens as a hacker still steals the show for me, as short as that scene is. On the crazy side, we have the killer midget, scream queen hacker, and a couple of ludicrous plot twists. As wild as the movie feels, it never really lets go and perhaps that was due to budget constraints. It still has some wacky moments, but never feels out of control with madness.
